For more than twenty-five years, our master artisan has worked in tadelakt — an ancient Moroccan plaster that very few people in North America have ever truly mastered.
Since 2011 it has been the only thing he does. One material. One craft. One pair of hands.
It cannot be rushed, and it cannot be faked. He works the surface by hand, slowly, until it stops looking like a finish and starts looking like stone — soft, warm, alive under your palm. No machine can do this.
His work is quietly sought after by some of the most private clients in the world. His name passes by word of mouth, among the people who already live with his pieces. In recent years he has turned to something rarer still: taking this centuries-old craft off the wall and shaping it into furniture.

Every piece is commissioned. Nothing is mass produced. It starts with your idea — a sketch, a room, something you have pictured for years — and takes shape entirely in his hands, in a matter of weeks. No two pieces are ever alike, and none is ever made twice.

What is Tadelakt furniture, and how is it different from regular furniture finishes?
Tadelakt is a traditional Moroccan lime plaster finish, hand-applied and burnished with river stones, then sealed with soap to create a smooth, waterproof, stone-like surface. Unlike painted or lacquered furniture, each piece is handcrafted work of art - no two surfaces are exactly alike, and the finish develops a natural patina over time.
Is Tadelakt furniture waterproof and suitable for bathrooms or outdoor spaces?
Yes. Tadelakt is naturally water-resistant, which is why it has been used for centuries in hammams and bathhouses. It performs beautifully in bathrooms, SPAS, and covered outdoor spaces.
How do I care for and maintain Tadelakt furniture?
Tadelakt requires minimal maintenance - a soft, damp cloth for regular cleaning and, occasionally, a light reapplication of our 100% natural olive oil soap to refresh the seal and sheen.
Can Tadelakt furniture be customized in color and shape?
Absolutely. Tadelakt is available in a wide range of natural, earthy pigments, and because each piece is hand-formed, we can customize shapes, sizes, and finishes to match your interior design vision - from minimalist side tables to sculptural statement pieces.
How long does it take to create a custom Tadelakt furniture piece?
Because Tadelakt is applied in multiple hand-burnished layers and requires curing time between each stage, custom pieces typically take several weeks from order to completion. Timeliness vary based on piece size, complexity, and finish - we can provide a specific estimate for your project.
